Lauren and Andrew’s Full Movie

Posted by: James Player on Mar 01 10 | Leave a comment.

Posted below is Lauren and Andrew’s entire wedding movie. In addition to this segment there are also many bonus matierial segments such as special messages, fun dancing clips, etc. that are included on their DVD.

In some of our more recent posts, it has been mentioned about how we pay close attention to music and the significant role music can play in “setting a scene”. I wanted to kind of dive in to that topic a little deeper as it specifically relates to Lauren and Andrew’s wedding movie below.

As I began reviewing the footage we captured, I was quickly reminded of the grandeur of their ceremony location (Sacred Heart Cultural Center) and knew that something more dramatic could certainly work for some of their movie. I began searching through some music selections that we had and found something that I felt supported the beauty of the location and the special moments from the wedding.

Some of the more dramatic musical parts of their wedding movie were pulled from “The Village” by director M Night Shyamalan and the music was scored by James Newton Howard.

Without spoiling anything for those that haven’t seen it, The Village was haunting and scary all while showcasing a strong love story between two young people that lived in “The Village”. James Newton Howard absolutely nailed the score to fit and support the storyline of this movie.

What James Newton Howard did for the score of “The Village” is the exact goal that we have with every moment of all the wedding movies we produce. While we cannot custom create a score for our movies, we do our best to pick the absolute best scores and/or music that will enhance what is happening on the screen. We also put alot of time into crafting the scores that we use to fit exactly how we need them to fit. So while we do use already existing scores many of the pieces you hear in our videos are certainly not 100% exact cuts off of the soundtracks.

This careful attention to detail makes a huge difference over just using the same music over and over for everyone.

In addition to the score from The Village we also used some scores from the following films:
- Face Off
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
- Lady in the Water
- Contact

One other thing we did based on a request from Lauren, Andrew and their family was to include the natural audio/music during the Bride’s entrance. While we typically try to enhance this portion of the video with a climactic score of some type we honestly couldn’t have agreed more that the natural audio worked great. They had a custom arrangement of a song from the Disney movie Cinderella and it turned out phenomenal (BTW the audio you hear is the live recording we made during the ceremony).

Since so much talk was made of “The Village” I figured I would show a piece of the movie. Below Lauren and Andrew’s movie you will find a segment from the Village where I got the music that I used around the title section of Lauren and Andrew’s intro to their movie.

Lauren and Jason’s Movie Segment

Posted by: James Player on Feb 17 10 | 1 Comment

Below is the first 30 minutes of Lauren and Jason’s wedding movie.

Lauren and Jason chose to do a post wedding interview where we sit down with them for an hour or so and just talk about the day and their feelings.

I always enjoy editing these as it really does add a completely different dimension and level of emotion to the video.

I also want to send out a personal thank you to Brantley and Richard with All Dressed Up Photography who allowed us the use of their studio for the interview. Speaking of Brantley and Richard, you can also see Lauren and Jason in the promo video that we did for All Dressed Up Photography a little over a year ago now. CLICK HERE TO BE TAKEN TO THE PROMO VIDEO.

Since we had footage of Lauren and Jason from the promo we dug it back out and used it to enhance their wedding movie also.

Jerry Maguire 2??? :-)

Posted by: James Player on Feb 06 10 | Leave a comment.

As you watch the below segment from Mary and Matt’s video one of the first things that may come to mind through a certain section is the movie Jerry Maguire.

If you have watched many clips on our blog you have no doubt seen that we pay careful attention to music and do our best to make the music underneath the video support the words you hear and the visuals you see and hear along with that music. We pick out much of the music purely based on the mood of the moment being shown on screen, however we also ask each couple for musical preferences and look to utilize those in any way possible.

With our movie style videos we send out questionnaires to the bride and groom asking for a ton of information related to their personal preferences and for personal details about their wedding. As I sarted on Mary and Matt’s edit and was reviewing their questionnairre, I noticed that they had made notes twice on it about how much they loved the song Secret Garden which was ultimately made famous in the movie Jerry McGuire. As I storyboarded their video I looked at every single moment of their wedding to see how I could carefully craft this song into their video since it was made so evident that it was special to them.

I could not be more happy with the way it came out!!

Congratulations again Mary and Matt!!

Amy and Brandon’s Wedding Movie

Posted by: James Player on Jan 28 10 | Leave a comment.

Below is the full length movie portion of Amy and Brandon’s wedding video.

In addition to the movie, they also received a disc with a ton of other content on it including a full documentary “as it happened” edit on the ceremony.

We actually ended up working with Amy and Brandon along with Ryan and Anita Goodman with Goodman Photography. Ryan and Anita used to offer photo/video package deals and Amy and Brandon chose a package with two photographers, so Ryan and Anita asked Marianna and myself to complete the video portion of their package.

It was a beautiful day and was the first time that we had been to a wedding at the Charles Ezra Daniel Memorial Chapel which is located on the campus of Furman University. Not only is the chapel beautiful but the grounds of the university are just as stunning and we had fun capturing all those details.

Congratulations again Amy and Brandon!!!

Lindsey and Jason’s Movie Segment

Posted by: jplayer on Jan 20 10 | 1 Comment

Below is a segment from Lindsey and Jason’s wedding movie.

From what we have seen, each wedding always seems to have at least one thing that goes wrong. Weather it is a tux that doesn’t fit someone, a dress needs some hemming, or a floral arrangement didn’t show at the church; there is always that one thing. On my and Marianna’s wedding day, the problem we had was pretty major.  We did not have our marriage licence due to me losing my wallet a few days prior to trying to obtain the license. Lindsey and Jason had a “problem” on their wedding day that I would also consider pretty major as it dealt with their rings. But despite having a major issue to deal with and think about they pushed through and had a very lighthearted attitude about the whole situation and it was an awesome day.

I’m not going to give away any spoilers as to what the issue was, but make sure to watch their wedding movie segment and you will find out exactly what happened!! ;-)

Congratulations again Lindsey and Jason.

Lauren and Scott’s Movie Segment

Posted by: James Player on Jan 14 10 | Leave a comment.

Here is a 22 minute segment from the Lauren and Scott’s movie.

If you’re a frequent visitor, you know that we are constantly looking for creative ways to blend moments form the coverage we have on the wedding day. Doing this allows us to maximize the emotional pull of each moment in everyone’s wedding movie.

As we were filming on the wedding day with Lauren and Scott, it was immediately evident that Lauren and her Dad had a special bond. As we began editing their movie and developing the storyline we started cross comparing the Father Daughter Dance song “I Loved Her First” and the toast that Lauren’s dad gave at the reception. After realizing extreme similarities we decided to blend those two moments together. Not until we actually had it edited down did we realize the full impact that this blending actually had. The music volume diminishes as Lauren’s dad’s toast starts, but if you carefully listen to the words in the song, and the words that her dad is saying, it will give you chills to see and hear how close they match up.

Sara and Andrew’s Wedding Trailer

Posted by: jplayer on Dec 30 09 | 1 Comment

Sara and Andrew were married on December 19th in Charleston, South Carolina. The ceremony was held at Saint Luke’s Chapel which is on the campus of MUSC. Nan, the Mother of the Bride, and other family members worked feverishly on the decorations at the chapel and I must say they did a fantastic job as everything looked wonderful.

A reception followed at the Francis Marion where everyone had an awesome time until Sara and Andrew departed to their room around 10:30.

Sara and Andrew chose Brooke Turner of Brooke Turner Photography as their wedding photographer and we always enjoy working with her. You can see some of the awesome photos she took at the wedding by CLICKING HERE.

Congratulations Sara and Andrew!!

Nicole and Kent’s wedding trailer

Posted by: James Player on Dec 20 09 | 1 Comment

Nicole Tese and Kent Gladden were married on 11.21.09 at Incarnation Lutheran Church off of Devine street in Columbia, SC. A reception followed at the beautiful 701 Whaley.

Nicole and Kent were a blast to work with.

They had Clark Berry Photography as their wedding day photographer and chose to have us tag along to the engagement session that Clark does before the wedding. You can see some of the footage we captured at the session in the trailer. Nicole wanted some unique stuff at night and we ended up shooting until 10:30 PM that night. It was a lot of fun.
You can see some of Nicole and Kent’s wedding day images that Clark and Becki took by visiting THIS PAGE.

Nicole and Kent also chose to have Melanie Murphy with By invitation Only do all of the coordinating for her wedding. As is normal for Melanie and her team, she made sure that every little detail was absolutely perfect and everything looked awesome.

Congratulations Nicole and Kent.
